Flow visualisation in
a model of a metallurgical
reactor

Situation
• Flow phenomena are of decisive importance for the optimisation of
  industrial processes.
• The investigation of flow conditions at a plant or facility is often,
if at all possible, very time-, effort- and money-consuming.

Our services
• Experimental research into flow conditions by means of
physical models on the basis of the similarity theory
• Use of modern investigation methods:
  >  flow visualisation
  >  concentration measurement and residence time analysis
  >  measurement of the precipitation of disperse phases (Phase-Doppler
      Anemometry or light absorbance method)
  >  laser optical techniques for detailed measurement of the
      flow conditions (Laser-/Phase-Doppler Anemometry or
      Particle Image Velocimetry)

Operational benefits
• Realisation of design- and process-related measures to
  boost plant and equipment efficiency
• Improvement of product quality and increase in yield
• Shortening of the process duration and conservation of energy and input
