Situation
• Inadequate monitoring of the rolling process throughout the rolling mill
• Disturbances and malfunctions in rolling mills dealt with only manually,
   few alternative courses of action
• Imprecise prediction of the course of production

Solution
• Equipment of the rolling mill with additional temperature measuring points
• Simulation of time-discrete material throughput
• Statistical analysis of the system performance
• Increase of the material throughput, based on temperature optimisation and
coupling of all the process steps

Benefits
• Reconstruction of events
• Better utilisation of the rolling mill capacity
• Coupling of work processes in case of interruptions, thereby less wear,
   better quality and optimised throughput
• Energy saving through improved product flow
