Measurement of hot tube, rod and wire diameters

In the illustrated example, two line-scan cameras at a defined distance from the tube measure the position and size/diameter by making use of the object's characteristic radiation.
To take account of the image scale's dependence on the distance, the measurement of the position by the one camera serves to determine the distance of the tube from the other camera. These data are input in a corrective calculation, making it possible to determine the true diameter.
