Lining of belt transfer points and skipcars

Function:

Charging of sinter from burden bins into blast furnace
Body: Impact plates
Counterbody: Iron ore sinter (approx. 400 to 1740 HV, dia. = 5 to 60 mm)
Impact velocity:  approx. 4 to 10 m/s
Material: Which material for which type of wear exposure?
Optimisation of materials

Wear behaviour of different materials exposed to abrasive impact wear caused by iron ore sinter

Betriebsforschungsinstitut has developed an impact wear testing machine to simulate industrial wear conditions.
