Objective:

Greater safety during the crane handling of ladles with molten contents. Joint development by Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann and the BFI

Sensor concept:

Utilisation of inductive sensors, supported by an electronic analysis system, to detect the ladle bail trunnions

Sensor installation:

  • sensors encapsulated in the shell of the hook opening
  • laminated hook with additional, split dummy lamella plate
  • tapered dummy lamella plate on hook dorsal side for cable duct
  • signal transmission via suspension / trailing cable
