Situation
• Accumulation of interfering components (solids, metals) and acid depletion
  in pickling process baths
• Reduced plant and equipment availability due to
  bath disposal and replacement
• Cost-intensive disposal of spent acids and sludge

BFI solutions
• Pressure-driven membrane and electromembrane techniques for pickling
  acid regeneration
• Solids separation by means of microfiltration
• Diffusion dialysis, electrodialysis and nanofiltration for the regeneration of
  free acid constituents
• Combined method of electrodialysis and electrolysis for the
total regeneration of hydrochloric pickling acid
• Treatment of weak acid pickling solutions by means of electrodialysis
• Combination of nanofiltration and crystallisation for the regeneration of
  mixed acids (HNO3/HF, H2SO4/HF)
• Online analysis for pickling baths

Our services and facilities
• Process analyses and feasibility studies
• Process development and applied technology
• Customer technical centre for membrane technology (micro-, ultra-,
   nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, diffusion/electrodialysis)
• Mobile pilot equipment for field use
• Customer technical centre for process development and module selection
• Membrane damage assessment
• Membrane and chemical laboratories
