TopPlan® is a system developed, and marketed under licence from IMS Messsysteme GmbH since the year 2000, for the continuous online topometric measurement and evaluation of strip, sheet and plate surface shape.
After each camera scan of a projected 'fringe' pattern, a topographic image of the entire measured area is available to calculate all such characteristics as:

• flatness in the form of an elongation distribution,
• turn-up/-down and shape of the head- and tail-ends of the strip, sheet or plate,
• width of the strip, sheet or plate,
• crossbow and skewness.
