On June 13 and 14, 2024, a project meeting for the MaxH2DR project took place in Salerno/Italy. Many thanks to all colleagues for the excellent collaboration and to our host Prof. Massimo Poletto for a great event!

MaxH2DR provides missing knowledge and tools for hydrogen-enriched direct reduction in shaft furnaces. The determination of pellet properties under process conditions and the interaction of solid and gas flow in a physical demonstrator provide data for digital models, implemented in FEM, FVM or the key technology DEM-CFD. Their development, validation and use for the investigation of scale-up and process optimization and integration are important project goals.
