New measuring instrument for the determination of the combustion technology properties of process, mixed and natural gases

Your goals:

  • Efficient combustion of process, mixed and natural gases even in the case of changes in the fuel gas composition
  • Exact continuous determination of combustion engineering parameters of the combustion gases used, such as calorific value, density, Wobbe, minimum air requirement
  • Control signal for setting the optimum fuel gas / air ratio
  • Saving of fuel gas

Our portfolio:

By means of a new measuring system for the continuous determination of the fuel gas quality:

  • Optimized setting of the fuel gas / air ratio (lambda) in the combustion process
  • Reduction of the fuel gas excess
  • Ensuring product quality

Principle function of the measuring system:

The universal fuel gas meter combines tried-and-tested calorific value measuring technology with cost-effective gas sensors for dynamic adaptation of the characteristic curves:

  • Determination of the concentrations of H2 (thermal conductivity), CO, CO2 and CH4 (infrared absorption) in the fuel gas
  • Measurement of the gas density by means of an ultrasonic measuring cell
  • Full conversion of fuel gas in electrically heated combustion chamber
  • Measurement of the residual oxygen content in the exhaust gas of the small-scale combustion chamber by means of a zirconium dioxide probe
  • Determination of the minimum air requirement: Lmin = f (O2, Res)
  • Calculation of calorific value and Wobbe number via dynamic correlation equation
  • Output of the measured variables as analog or digital measurement signal
