Minimisation of dust emissions and immissions

The BFI offers a reliable inventory and evaluation of existing dedusting systems with regard to dust emissions and the efficiency of  fume capture. Based on this, proposals for possible geometric and process changes to increase dedusting performance and/or reduce operating costs are developed and evaluated. The investigation methods are:

  • Plant observations, measurements, operational trials
  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Experimental investigations on physical models to validate simulation results

This results in the following advantages for the customer:

  • Optimised dust removal performance with the lowest possible extraction volume flow
  • Improvement of working conditions
  • Compliance with legally prescribed limit values for emissions and occupational safety, in particular new fine dust limit values (PM2.5, PM10)
