Kick-Off-Meeting for DiGreeS
On November 20 and 21, 2024, the kick-off meeting for the DiGreeS (Demonstration of Digital twins for a Green Steel value chain) research project took place at the Fraunhofer Institute IZFP in Saarbrücken.
In this project, innovative measurement techniques in combination with digital twins of the individual processes are developed in three use cases along the process chain of steel production and linked for an energy- and resource-saving process control. BFI is involved in two use cases with the development of measurement techniques for scrap characterization and process models for the Electric Arc Furnace. BFI furthermore supports the implementation and integration of the digital twins.
The project is funded as part of the Clean Steel Partnership of the Horizon Europe Programme of the European Union.
