Reallabor H2Stahl: Construction progress on our DR pilot plant
Together with our project partner thyssenkrupp Steel and the project sponsor Jülich (PtJ), we discussed the project status at the ‘H2Steel’ project meeting on 4 March 2026 in Duisburg and, as a special highlight, visited the construction site of our DR pilot plant: The first level of the steel structure is already in place and gives a very good impression of how the plant is developing step by step.
The project is progressing very successfully – thanks to the close and constructive cooperation of all partners.
The BFI is the owner and operator of the plant and manages the scientific campaigns.
