IConSys – Improved quality management in flat steel production

Initial situation

  • DSS developed during DECFLAQ project is successful running since 2007 at ThyssenKrupp Rasselstein
  • Operators are supported to check if the product was properly processed
  • Only quality degradations were detected
  • No check if manufacturing specifications were considered

Working topics

  • IT based storage of manufacturing specifications
  • Comparison of manufacturing specifications and process data
  • Detection of products with superior quality
  • Suggestion to the operator how to handle products with lower or higher quality than the customer has ordered

Results

  • Detection of outdated manufacturing specifications
  • More homogeneous production due to the monitoring of the consideration of manufacturing specifications
  • Optimised yield and delivery time due to quality based product scheduling
